TuiNa is one of four main branches of Chinese medicine; its sister therapies are acupuncture, herbal medicine and Qi Gong. TuiNa has been used for over 4000 years in China to treat illnesses and to maintain health.

TuiNa uses a wide range of massage techniques from rolling and pressing, to shaking, grasping and vibrating. These techniques can be applied as powerful physical techniques or used very gently and subtly. The techniques are used to stimulate the points and channels of the meridian system, and the soft tissues, sinews and organs.

TuiNa can be used alongside acupuncture treatment or as an alternative to acupuncture for people who are fearful of needles. Tui na treatment can be very dynamic and moving or very subtle, gentle and relaxing depending on the individual's needs. It is used to treat a variety of conditions ranging from musculoskeletal issues such as back pain or neck tension to anxiety, digestive disturbances, insomnia, stress relief and general well-being. It is also perfect as a gentle and relaxing massage technique for stress release.

TuiNa massage can be very relaxing, it is particularly useful to relieve anxiety and stress, promote relaxation and aid sleep.

Treatment is applied either over loose clothing and a Tui na cloth, or directly onto the skin if an external herbal media is to be applied. TuiNa includes Cupping, Guasha and Moxa when appropriate.
