I'm originally from Switzerland and moved to London to follow a dream of dancing. In 2003 I had a severe break through my right tibia whilst snowboarding. After surgery I successfully rehabilitated with Pilates. I then continued on with my studies and finally graduated from Laine Theatre Arts with a National Dance Diploma Qualification (Trinity London).
Inspired by my own personal journey, I started to build up a second career teaching Pilates, Dance and Corrective Exercise. I have over 10 years of teaching experience to clients of all abilities. I completed the BASI Comprehensive Teacher Training Course and continue to attended various workshops to expand my knowledge including Pilates for Dancers (BASI), Pilates for Skiers (APPI), Pre- and Post Natal Pilates (The Centre for Women’s Fitness), Anatomy in Motion, NKT (Neuro Kinetic Therapy), Aerial Yoga and Circus Fit classes.
The Anatomy in Motion training course completely changed the way I move, teach and think which led me into the beautiful world of Chinese Medicine. I started having Acupuncture treatments for muscular-skeletal issues related back to my leg fracture all those years ago. To my surprise, acupuncture not only helped with the muscular pain, it released emotional baggage I have carried with me for years. Two years after my first acupuncture session I decided to embrace the journey of studying Acupuncture, as I simply fell in love with this powerful medicine.
After I stopped dancing as a career, I couldn’t just go back to taking dance classes, I longed for a new hobby. That's when I found circus - I was hooked after my first trapeze class! It was super challenging and painful, yet the feeling of freedom and empowerment was much greater! I now train in various aerial disciplines and love how it challenges my comfort zone, pushes my body and my mind to new levels and leaves me with a sense of accomplishment and humbleness!
My passion is expression through motion; taking time to move my body helps me know, and more importantly, learn more about who “I am”. My highest value is to be free to move through my life with the confidence that my body is also up for the challenges. In my Pilates classes I focus on re-educating people about their bodies with a view of re-discovering how it moves, how it can move and how it “wants” to move. I use a mixture of Pilates and Anatomy in Motion to help people re-establish healthy fluid motion.
My Aerial Yoga classes are challenging, fun and uplifting! The focus is on building strength, increase flexibility, challenge those comfort zones and have fun whilst doing so!
As well as teaching Pilates and Aerial Yoga, I’m offering Acupuncture, TuiNa massage therapy and Anatomy in Motion treatments at the Lodge.space.
